罗安妮: 小姐,请问有没有英汉 字典1 字典
There are two Cantonese words that can be rendered as 'dictionary' in English. The character 字 *jih* in 字典 *jihdin* itself means character, and hence 字典 refers to a character dictionary. A second term for dictionary, 辞典 *chihdin*, refers to a phrase or word dictionary. By contrast, a 字典 typically just addresses the meanings and usage of a single character. In a 辞典, however, one can find a list of words organized by the first character of the word. Note that modern Cantonese words usually have between one and three characters (a character nearly always equals a morpheme in Cantonese), though two character words are the most common.
